About Cancer

Cancer occurs when cell division is out of control. Usually, the timing of cell division is under the strict constraint, involving a network of signals that work together to say when a cell can divide, how often it should happen and how errors can be corrected. Mutations in one or more nodes in the network can cause cancer, either by exposure to certain environmental factors (eg tobacco smoke) or because of genetic predisposition, or both. Usually, cancer, the promotion of several factors before adding a person to develop a malignancy: a few exceptions, no risk alone is sufficient.

The main mechanisms of cancer presented here are (i) the track degradation of DNA repair (ii) the conversion of a normal gene into an oncogene, and (iii) malfunction of a tumor supressor gene.
